On your affillliate stats page you will see something called "hops." 

When a buyer uses an affiliate link to go to a sales page, it’s a hop. Similarly, when a buyer uses a vendor link to go to a sales page, it’s a hop (for a vendor).

Hops are NOT unique and so, if a person visits your page more than once, they will increase the hop count.
